In The Wilderness

So, I'm now going to start titling me posts by using whatever song I'm listening to when I start writing, and I'm listening to "In The Wilderness" by Gojira. So, RANDOM NOTE!

Tis one more day til Underoath. I'm pretty excited, looking forward to seeing The Devil Wears Prada more than Underoath, but both are pretty high on my want-to-see list. Just got out of Old Testament class with my boy, Jared, where we debated promiscuity in ancient times and how it was dealt with. Interesting topics, I assure you. And then we got into our usual goofing off stuff that always happens.

I'm REALLY behind in reading Plato and it sucks. It REALLY SUCKS! I need to read 200+ pages before Saturday and write a damn 4 page paper on Plato and Aeschylus. Sounds exciting, that's for sure. I'll probably get Cal to try and help me. He understands it, at least.

On a side note, I'm feeling better since my abstract whatever-the-fuck-that-was post last night. It's just that shit has been getting to me and I had to let something out. I also have really good friends who have helped me out with it, so thanks to them. They know who they are.

I need some sweet pictures for my black metal solo project. I wonder where I should take them. And I wonder if Jim will let me borrow a cigarette for the photos.

. . . .

. . . .

. . . .

. . . .

Wondering doesn't usually work out for me, though, so let's not go down that road.

The Shield is on again tonight, so I'll be at Dave's a lot tonight if anyone wants to get in touch or hang out. Catch you fine cat's later.

. . . . .

So, I've come to the stern conclusion that life has it out for me. Yeah, knowing that the cosmic forces of the universe see to negatively alter my fate isn't necessarily the most uplifting thing to have looming in your mind, but at this point, I think I've come to at least accept that my life is destined to be fucked over and over again by my own actions and my SICKENING BAD sense of timing. I wish that I could sometimes exhibit the social skills that everyone else around me has and could, you know, hold a fucking conversation about something other than music, partying, or school, but I had no social life until college and thus this skill evades me. I need to honestly break my addiction to an iPod and talk to some people and not get lost listening to the people talking to each other and just say what's on my mind, whether they agree or disagree, whether it offends or gets a laugh, whether they cry or they get warm inside. I also wish I had not waited . . . . . . .

for my hesitation has cost me, as it always does. I should contemplate this change, to ease the pain.

Saturday better get here soon. I feel like eradicating myself to the point of ABSOLUTELY no return.

So, the First Blog of Many . . . .

Well, here I am again! Another goddamn blogging site. It shouldn't surprise me that after FIVE YEARS of jumping from blogging site to blogging site, I end up at ANOTHER blogging site! Well, let's see what's been going on.

Oh yeah! I SAW DIMMU BORGIR!!!!!!! It was the most badass show EVER! First, we missed the opening band Skeletonwitch because of traffic and the plague of parking known as Halloween Horror Nights. D: When we got in the Hard Rock, we caught the later half of Winds of Plague's set which was tight as fuck! They put on a super energetic set and we were all instant fans.

After running into people I know from Death Fest and getting a compliment about my OWN music from a friend of a friend (which was super flattering), Moonspell came on stage to a massive strobe light-filled goth metal extravaganza! They had a very solid performance and weren't as bad as I thought they'd be! Once again, another band has won me over!

Then, Dimmu! They absolutely destroyed every other band that night and laid waste to the competition! Like a well-oiled machine they came on stage and made it known why they are the biggest black metal band on the planet! They played all the best songs, too! The setlist was as follows:

1. Progenies of the Great Apocalypse
2. Vredesbyrd
3. The Serpentine Offering
4. The Sinister Awakening
5. Reptile
6. Spellbound (by the Devil)
7. Kings of the Carnival Creation
8. The Sacrilegious Scorn
9. The Chosen Legacy
10. Puritania
11. Morning Palace

It was a magical night! Their new touring drummer Daray from Vader was really good! While he played slower than I thought he would, he gave the songs a more "black metal" feel with the slowed down pace and his drumming was very forceful and intense, which I liked. It sucks SO much that Galder wasn't on guitar, but Cyrus from Susperia did a fine job filling in for him. And the rest of the band destroyed as usual! Perfect show!

Then Danzig came out to what was an extremely lackluster showing. Forget the fact that he's getting fat and balding, his cord was getting caught everywhere, the guitar's tone was AWFUL, AND Danzig fell on his ass during the third song! Classic for it's Spinal Tap-ness! We left half way through his set, needless to say. haha

An awesome show and I feel sorry if you missed out! It was badass! This Wednesday, I have The Devil Wears Prada and Underoath to look forward to! This promises to be ridiculous. :)
